This year I’ve had the pleasure to speak at two Droidcon conferences, first in Berlin and then in New York City! These were my first experiences as a conference speaker, and to be honest, I was both scared and nervous going into it. Despite the nerves (and a bit of shaking), I ended up having so much fun. The engagement and interest I received from the audience made it even more rewarding, it really showed there was interest in my topic. Going to a conference as a speaker truly is different.
In my talk, I aimed to demystify how Augmented Reality experiences work. Going from the fundamentals of 3D rendering with OpenGL ES on Android, to the pivotal role of ARCore and showed how to combine it all with Jetpack Compose to create a modern AR application. The session was packed with both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations, including live code examples and running them on a real device.
